Working hard in Bubble School

Ciannah has been in Bubble School for the past 3-4 weeks at school. Not only has she been completing the activities given on the class site, she has also been doing activities that the Bubble School teachers have prepared for her to do. Ciannah has been such a hard worker all lockdown, well done Ciannah!

4 Facts: Niue Arts and Crafts

This week is Niuean Language Week. Today we are learning about Niuean Arts and Crafts. On our Google Meets this morning, Willy, Karoline, Malynda and Kasaline worked together to write these Four Facts about Makataone Pilokolu, a Niuean weaver. We all watched a video and learnt a lot about her.

Please feel free to leave a positive comment :)

Term 4: Tā tātou Kōrero Tā tātou Kōwhiringa - Our Voice Our Choice

Our theme for Term 4 is "Tā tātou Kōrero Tā tātou Kōwhiringa - Our Voice Our Choice".

We will be focussing on understanding where we belong (family, religion, community, etc), our roles and responsibilities, and understanding the concept of "My Space, My Place". It is going to be a fun term of learning for us. It's all about identity and belonging so get ready for your learning!

Check out the video our teachers put together during the holidays for 'Tā tātou Kōrero Tā tātou Kōwhiringa - Our Voice Our Choice'.

Team 4 Dress-Up Day!

Today is the last day of Term 3, and eam 4 Teachers wanted to have a bit of fun with our classes. We challenged our children dress up as their favourite Superhero or Movie character. This challenge was given to see how creative our kids can be, especially because they couldn't just leave the house and buy a costume from the store. Some of our children asked their parents for help, or even their clothes. Some of them made their costumes out of different materials they found around the house. They even had to use household items in place of actual props!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Room 678 for Level 3

With Mrs Lagitupu being part of Bubble School, Room 6, 7 and 8 have joined together to become Room 678! We love being 678 - we get to interact with the other teachers as well as children from across the classrooms in our space. Haven't our kids got beautiful smiles? Us teachers are so proud of the efforts our learners are putting into their work, and for turning up to our daily Google Meets. Keep up the great work Room 678!

Happy learning, and don't forget to leave positive comments on our blogs!

We're in Level 3!

Auckland is moving into Level 3! We have a few students that have been going into school for Bubble School, and our amazing Mrs Lagitupu went in as the Teacher. Even though we have moved levels, we are still learning online from home. We are aware of the rules for Level 3 and we are ensuring that we keep healthy and safe. This week, our teachers decided that our learning for this week is all about Te Whare Tapa Wha. By looking into this subject, we were able to look into our well-being - something we are making sure is well looked after.

Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori: Words for the Week

This week was Māori Language Week. We looked at some of the different important to Māori Culture. They are Whānaungatanga (relationships), Whenua (land and environment), Whānau (family), Whakapapa (heritage and lineage) and Kōrero (talking). These are important values that we like to teach Point England students so that they are confident in their identities and comfortable being in our PES whānau.
