Table Discussions - Respect
Every Friday, Room 6 has been having table discussions. Our teacher gives us a question and we answer it the best we can. We thought we would discuss one of the kōrero that Mr Burt talked about in our assembly. The question we were given was 'why is it important that we show respect?' Here are a few of our responses.

I really liked your thoughtful comments about RESPECT...here are some of my favourite quotes about respect.
ReplyDeleteA person's a person, no matter how small.

Respect yourself and others will respect you.
When we treat people merely as they are, they will remain as they are. When we treat them as if they were what they should be, they will become what they should be.
One of the most sincere forms of respect is actually listening to what another has to say.
Treat people the way you want to be treated. Talk to people the way you want to be talked to. Respect is earned, not given.
I must respect the opinions of others even if I disagree with them.
Never take a person's dignity: it is worth everything to them, and nothing to you.
Tolerance implies a respect for another person, not because they are wrong or even because they are right, but because they are human.
